At the oyster market the Querrien family stall stands out due to its bright pink colour. Represented by Boudette, a small pretty blonde woman, smiling and dressed all in pink, the SCEA Querrien dresses up in the colour loved by its bubbly proprietor Laurence !
With her husband Karl they have raised oysters in Cancale for 32 years. They are accompanied today by the fourth generation of the family. Carrying the flag is Jordane and Marie.
This family business provides oysters which grow in their 18 hectares of oyster beds situated on the port of La Houle, after having been born in their beds at Fouras in Charente-Maritime.

Querrien oysters are available at the oyster market directly, from the workshop and also on several markets: Fougères on Saturdays, St Hilaire du Harcouet and Caen Sundays, as well as in the Place aux Huitres at Saint-Malo on Sunday mornings (by the Porte de Dinan).
When you visit Cancale you will also have the pleasure of eating Querrien oysters in the restaurants La Mère Champlain and Chez Victor.
